The plaza was the scene of a devastating fire that killed seven tenants and injured another 22.  A fire that started small in a garbage chute, raced to the top of the enclosure and raged through the upper floors of the building.  The incident turned disaster when the sprinkler system failed to function followed by issues with the building standpipe system.  T.J. Russo Consultants was the lead private sector investigator and was retained to analyze the origin, cause and spread of the fire as well as the failures of the various systems.
